You may have heard of companies like Brinks and ADT. These nationally known companies provide fantastic home security services for individuals seeking protection for their homes and even apartments. Contrary to popular belief, home security services aren't something reserved for the wealthy. Most anyone can afford a basic system that can provide adequate protection against burglary and invasion.
The most basic of home security services will most likely cost you around $99 for installation and a $30 per month monitoring fee, depending on what company and system you choose. Some companies are more expensive, while others are less expensive. For premium or deluxe packages, you'll often pay a higher installation fee. And what will you get for your money? Plenty!
Home security services all work in the same basic manner. The device is activated and deactivated via the use of a keypad placed at the front and/or back door of your residence. Upon exiting or entering your dwelling, you'll need to key in a numeric code that you've chosen. You're given a specific amount of time to get the code keyed in before the alarm sounds.
If the alarm sounds due to forced entry, then the police are automatically notified and dispatched to your residence. There are also usually buttons on the keypads that allow you to call fire and ambulance if needed with one touch. These home security services, depending on the package you choose, often come with other features as well. Motion sensors, heat sensors, glass break sensors, carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors and even moisture detectors are examples of features that certain systems provide.
Many people choose to implement additional home security services in addition to a monitoring system. There are surveillance cameras, for example, that allow you to view areas of your property on your television screen. Motion sensitive lights work by coming on when movement is detected in a certain range. Often cameras and lights are used as part of a larger security system to provide an extra level of protection.
Home security services exist to provide you with a sense of safety and security. And they really do work. If you're a homeowner or renter, you should absolutely investigate the various services available to help keep your home and family free from harm.
